Strengthening Relationships Through Video Interaction Guidance
Video Interaction Guidance (VIG)
A Strengths-Based Approach to Change
Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) is a collaborative and reflective process that uses carefully selected video clips to explore positive moments of interaction. Together, we identify strengths, build understanding, and develop greater confidence in relationships and communication.
Rather than focusing on problems, VIG helps people recognise what is already working and how small moments of connection can be strengthened and repeated in everyday life.
I have used VIG extensively with parents and families to support stronger, more attuned interactions with children and young people, although the approach can benefit anyone wishing to improve communication, relationships, or self-awareness.
Evidence-Based Practice
VIG is a well-established approach supported by research into communication, relationships, and positive interaction.
Building on Strengths
Sessions focus on successful moments of connection, helping people recognise and build on what they already do well.
Reflective Learning
Watching short video clips together encourages greater insight, confidence, and understanding of relationships.
Improving Communication
Develop stronger, more responsive interactions that support emotional wellbeing and positive relationships.
Collaborative Process
VIG is completed together in a supportive, non-judgemental environment where your goals guide the process.
